New Year Message
Rosh Hashanah 5765
Dear friends:
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, a time of introspection and analysis, let us ponder what we have accomplished so far, for 5765 promises to bring us great achievements.
We have held since our creation three very successful Youth Encounters, and are, at present, in the process of organizing our 8th. Encounter in El Salvador, that certainly is going to be exciting and fruitful.
We have established a very positive and rewarding relationship with Hebrew College, where its President, Dr. David Gordis and all the wonderful team working at the Distance Learning Department are working hard at this very moment, trying to set the foundation for Adult and Youth Learning Programs that will enrich our Jewish life, while making us more knowledgeable and able to cope with the mulltiple challenges of the present.
Most importantly, we have become a family of 11 communities that contribute their efforts. within the realm of their possibilities, towards our continued growth. We may not see each other on a daily basis, but the UJCL is forever present in our hearts and minds.
On Rosh Hashanah, let us strive for the realization of our projects, that will impact the future of our youth and of our communities. Though small in numbers, let us greet 5765 with a confidence born of our record of solving problems with creativity and determination. Our possibilities for development are only limited by the extent of our resolve to make the UJCL an innovative organization that uses its human resources with wisdom and vision to revitalize Jewish life in our shared geographic area.
May this Rosh Hashanah bring us even closer in spirit and shared goals.
A joyous and luminous 5765 to all of you,
LeShanah Tovah Tikatevu,
